Hydrating To Feel Great in the new year

Just like earth is covered in water, our bodies are made up of all almost 80% water depending on our age. This is why water is the foundation of life, and we can't go more then three days without it and why staying hydrated is so important. Each day we can become easily dehydrated,  as our bodies can lose up to ten cups of water just by breathing, sweating, urinating and eliminating waste from our bodies. In addition, we can easily become dehydrated by drinking beverages like coffee, tea, soda and energy drinks. So how can you tell if you are dehydrated or not. Here are some symptoms that you may be having

  • Fatigue
  • skin disorders
  • digestive disorders
  • bag under eyes
  • dry lips
  • sugar cravings
  • headaches/confusions
So how much water is needed to stay hydrated. There is old saying that we need eight cups a day, but now research is showing that we may actually need more then the recommend  eight cups of water a day. In fact studies are showing that men actually need sixteen cups a day, while women need elven cups of water a day to stay full hydrated. You may think, wow that is a lot of water, but a portion of that can come from the food we eat, but trying to consumer more then sixty four ounces of water a day can have many benefits including

  • weight loss
  • strong hair and nails
  • healthy scalp
  • clearer eyes
  • smoother and more glowing skin
  • give  us natural energy
  • improves mood
